Tembe elephant Park is located on the northern border of Kwa Zulu Natal. The exclusivity of this lodge refers purely to the limited numbers of visitors that are permitted into this 300 kilometre square reserve on a daily basis so as to preserve the sanctity of this virgin wilderness area. This Park is famous for the last original Kwa zulu-Natal elephants which until very recently were free roaming. They have now been enclosed in Tembe Elephant Park – for their own self preservation as during their regular crossings into Mozambique they were being poached by the locals with automatic weapons. If you are an elephant lover then this is a reserve you will enjoy. The Tembe elephants, argue-ably larger than those in Hluhluwe /Imfolozi are huge tuskers. Fairly recently lion were introduced into the Park so the status of the Park is such that it is now a “Big Five” reserve. The terrain at Tembe is wild virgin bush and sand veld. |

| Located in the Pongola Game Reserve this exclusive luxury lodge is typical of colonial style up-market tented type lodges. The Pongola Game Reserve abutts Lake Josini – home to many crocodiles and hippos and famous for it’s Tiger fishing. Tiger fishing, game drives, bush walks and elephant tracking are all available at White Elephant Lodge. Whilst there are no lion in this reserve, elephant, rhino, giraffe etc. are all found here. An added advantage is the opportunity to take a sunset cruise on the water. | |
